Hypothyroid Treatment – Time for an Alternative Approach?

Are you struggling to find the right treatment for your hypothyroid patients?

Are you dealing with shortages and recalls that bring you back to square one?

Hypothyroid pharmacotherapy has a long history of challenges and as any physician or provider can attest to – there is no single bulls-eye treatment solution. The individual differences in response to thyroid medications are vast, the supply-chain is troubling, and patient frustration is evident. In this webinar, we will explore alternative solutions for your patients that are unable to reach their best selves on traditional levothyroxine monotherapy. We will discuss emerging preferences and evidence in support of not only combination levothyroxine (L-T4) and liothyronine (L-T3) treatment, but also preference and evidence in support of natural thyroid extract. In discussing options for natural thyroid extract, we will address challenges with commercially available forms, including quality, recalls, availability, allergen ingredients, and more. With the evidence on challenges mounting, we will present solutions and alternative options that all prescribers should have in their back pocket.

Led by pharmacotherapeutic expert in hormone therapy and facilitator of globally recognized continuing education program on personalizing hormone therapy – Dr. Ken Speidel – this webinar will:

  • Explore opportunities for personalization through pharmaceutical compounding.
  • Drive evidence that has you thinking outside the box.
  • Present a case for natural thyroid extract.
  • Introduce what a consistent and quality supply can look like.
  • Create an opportunity for improved patient care.
