Interpreting Certificates of Analysis for Accurate Compounding (On-demand)
AN APC WEBINAR POWERED BY LP3 NETWORK
This is the on-demand version of the webinar. The recording will be posted within a week of the live event.
Overview
This presentation provides a step-by-step approach to interpreting Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) to ensure accurate pharmaceutical compounding. It focuses on practical calculation examples using assay values, water content, and loss on drying, as well as converting from salt forms to base equivalents when applicable.
Participants will learn how to apply CoA data to determine the correct amount of active ingredient, perform drug dilution calculations, and recognize common sources of compounding error.
This session also covers how to interpret antibiotic monographs, with emphasis on understanding potency expressions and how they impact final concentration and dosing before preparing compounded formulations.
