Overview

Federal policy affects your compounding practice; however, not nearly as much as state laws and regulations do.  In this session, you’ll get a whirlwind tour of adopted changes in compounding laws and regulations in states across the country during the 2021 and proposed changes currently in the 2022 sessions.

    1. Recognize the states that amended compounding requirements in 2021 via legislation & regulation.
    2. Explain aspects (areas) of requirements amended in 2021.

    David A. Kosar is a consultant with 35 years of experience in state and federal government affairs, 17 of which have been focused on legislative/regulatory lobbying and association management for the drug distribution industry.

    David monitors/tracks state legislation/regulation and federal health information technology (IT) regulations for national pharmacy associations. He also provides policy analysis and drafts comments on proposed federal health IT regulations pertaining to pharmacy and the national health IT infrastructure developed by federal agencies. Other responsibilities include developing strategic plans for use in overall organization operations, performing government affairs resource assessments for organizations, and conducting specialized research.

    COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS FOR CLAIMING CREDITS 

    1. View the recorded webinar in full.
    2. Pay the credit reporting fee of $10.00 USD.
    3. Complete a learning assessment (minimum 80% passing grade, two attempts permitted) within 14 days.
    4. Submit a completed live event evaluation form online within 14 days.

    When the aforementioned steps have been completed and approved:

    • Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians registered in the United States will obtain a statement of completed credits on their NABP e-Profile within 60 days.
    • Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians registered elsewhere will receive an automated email from LP3 Network advising that they can download a statement of participation.
    • All participants will receive an automated email from LP3 Network advising that they can download the LP3 Network certificate of completion.
