- Acquire basic skills and knowledge related to sterile compounding.
- Appreciate the complexities surrounding sterile compounding operations.
- Discuss the sales implications surrounding equipment and devices used during sterile compounding.
- Discuss the sales implications surrounding beyond-use dating for sterile compounding.
- Demonstrate technology used to prepare the small volume and large volume parenteral.
- Demonstrate equipment used during aseptic manipulations.
- Demonstrate donning and doffing of non-hazardous and hazardous sterile garb.
- Learn the importance of appropriate hand hygiene techniques and related cleaning and disinfecting agents.
- Demonstrate how to clean and disinfect the sterile work environment.
- Demonstrate how to manipulate a closed system transfer device used during hazardous drug compounding.
- Demonstrate how to aseptically move in, out, and between, ISO class 8, 7, and 5 classified environments.
- Discuss cleanroom suite configurations for optimal workflow.
- Discuss technology and technique used during environmental air and surface sampling.
- Discuss the incubation of viable samples (i.e., fingertip and thumb, environmental and compounded sterile preparation)
- Discuss the use, application and benefits of the biological indicator and chemical integrator.
