IV Nutrition in Compounding (PFM On-demand)

Overview

Customized IV preparations, particularly for IV nutrition, is a specialty niche in compounding. Given the complexities and regulatory issues surrounding IV nutrition preparations, it is no wonder that this particular niche continues to be a significant barrier among compounders:

  • Where to start?
  • What nutrients do what?
  • Are they effective / safe?
  • How should they be given?
  • Are they compatible, and what to mix them in?

This activity will cover all of these questions and more, from the basics of IV nutrition in compounding to more advanced topics that compounders may not be as familiar with. Through the expert guidance of Casey Greene, PharmD, IFMCP, you should walk away with a good fundamental understanding of where to start when compounding for IV nutrition.
