Integrating Medicinal Cannabis into Your Practice
The webinar will be live on May 7th, 2024 at 7:30pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)
Since the legalisation of medicinal cannabis in Australia in 2016, its therapeutic potential has garnered immense interest, particularly concerning personalised therapy across numerous and complex medical conditions. While compounding with medicinal cannabis serves to meet the individual needs of a patient, pharmacists and prescribers are often challenged by the lack of clarity surrounding the clinical application, best practices, and legal aspects when prescribing compounded therapies in Australia.
This webinar aims to further facilitate pharmacists and prescribers in personalising therapy with medicinal cannabis. Explore the latest and emerging clinical evidence surrounding medicinal cannabis products, particularly cannabidiol-dominant formulations. The webinar will discuss different dosing regimens and dosage forms available to fit an individual’s needs. Participants will walk through the steps to prescribe compounded medicinal cannabis, including authorisation pathways to prescribe and information required. Lastly, the webinar will provide clarity on federal- and state-wide regulations in prescribing and dispensing compounded medicinal cannabis.
